30-day Challenge

Day 6 of 30 – Rest Days

I’ve been staying at home for the past 3 days now since the surgery. It’s been a lot of fun to spend even more time with Elian at home even if the first day I could’t carry him or run around with him as much. While I’ve been working a bit when Elian is napping, it’s also been good to get some rest as well not just from the surgery but just in general. I’ve finished a book I started reading last week. Started a new book today too. Finally watched Season 2 of Billions (awesome show!) on Netflix as well.

It helps a lot to have my team on Slack as it really makes it easy to communicate and coordinate things with them throughout the day. Can’t recommend this superb app enough! It’s productivity, project management, team chat, cloud drive, etc etc functions all rolled into one. Emails I mostly tend to get to late night when Ellen and Elian are both sleeping. So during the day as much as possible I only respond to really urgent emails otherwise the whole day just goes by responding to every single email.

Also today, I decided to remove the bandages on my cheeks/jaw because we wanted to go to Ramen Nagi for dinner. Didn’t want to be walking around with bandages on my face but wasn’t ready to see what was underneath to be honest. I had dark bruises under my jaw line on both sides and my swollen cheeks make me look like Nutty Professor lol. But it’s all good as the pain wasn’t so bad today. Plus I had a good bowl of ramen to boot. Just have to give it time for the swelling to go down for the next few days then have the stitches removed the week after.

Well as much as I enjoyed the rest this week, I can’t wait to get back to work next week!
